Centre d’Interpretació del Monestir Santamaría de Ripoll

Where is considered the origin of the Catalan culture, Ripoll is a northern small village with one of the most important monastery in the Romanic architectural period.

“Capella de la Congregació” attached to the Monastery of Ripoll was rebuild in order to locate this permanent exhibition. This new space invites the visitor, prior to visit the monastery, to an intimate atmosphere. The sign of the cross, as a crystal light glass, means the generator of the culture inside the monastery; whereas the skin, the curved walls above (?) this one, means what the monastery contributed in the Catalan culture.
